Interview with a surf instructor – Khaled

Today we have asked a few questions to Khaled; hard working and with the biggest smile at the camp, we’ve been watching Khaled hang five all day today!
How long have you worked at Surf Star?
– For 2 years
How long have you been surfing for? Where did you learn?
– About 4-5 years or something. I learnt at Devil’s rock – borrowing surf boards from the other surf instructors

How would you describe your style of surfing?
– I like to surf everything! Shortboard, longboard, stand-up-paddle
Which pro surfer do you like?
– Kelly Slater
Which is your favourite surf spot in Morocco?
– Devil’s Rock

What do you like about teaching people to surf?
– I like guiding – taking people to new points and surfing with them

What do you like to do in your time off?
– Surfing and fishing. I go night fishing, and spear fishing. And I like playing football.

Interview with a Surf Instructor – Barack

Here at Surf Star Morocco we are very proud of our amazing surf instructors! Experienced, knowledgeable, fun! How long have you worked at Surf Star?

– 1 year and a half – since June 2014

How long have you been surfing for? Where did you learn?

– 15 years! I learnt at banana beach. I bought my first board from someone and it was a short board but I still had some lessons from the club there. The rest of my practice was just my own time.

How would you describe your style of surfing?

– My aim in the water is to enjoy and have fun. I’m not competitive surfer, I’m more of a free surfer. I do like to challenge myself!

Which pro surfer do you like?

– I have to say Kelly Slater, and I like big wave surfer Laid Hamilton. He’s the guy that started to catch big waves on strap boards

Which is your favourite surf spot in Morocco?

– Anchor Point – on a classic day

What do you like about teaching people to surf?

– I feel happy after people are smiling when they learn – it’s a good energy

What do you like to do in your time off?

– Go surfing! In the summer I like the mountains too.
